Junior Tim Lang (Olympia, WA) picked up 2 goals sunday night for the Hawks

Sunday Afternoon the Seattle University hockey team finished there season with a finale against the University of Puget Sound. The Hawks were looking to get back at the Loggers after they were swept back in February. The game remained scoreless for the first half of the first period until the Loggers would go up 1-0 on a rebound goal. The Hawks however would respond towards the end of the period as Junior Tim Lang (Olympia, WA) would bang in a rebound goal of his own after a Adam Read shot was blocked by Loggers goalie Brenden Goetz to even the score at 1-1. The Loggers would strike back with only 2 minutes remaining in the first to go into the locker room up 2-1. The Hawks would come out flying in the second period and would waste no time tying the game up. Junior Ben Markwart (Floyd, NY) let a rocket go from the point and his shot was deflected nicely by Sophomore Adam Read (Northgate, WA) to tie the score at 2-2, Markwart was credited with an assist on the goal. The Loggers however would have an answer to that as they would regain the lead minutes later and go into the locker room with a 3-2 lead. Once again the Hawks came out flying and determined to tie the game and they did just that. Again It was Ben Markwart as he would chaise down a puck behind the Loggers net and put a pass right on the tape to a wide open Tim Lang in front of the net as Lang would beat Goetz five-hole to tie it at 3 a piece and grab his second goal of the game. But thats as close as the Hawks would get as they got sloppy and would trail 4-3 midway through the third period and the Loggers would add 3 more for insurance and bring the final to 7-3. Hawks goalie Read Constant finished with 31 saves and made many great saves to keep the game close. The Hawks would like to thank all who supported them and attended games throughout the season.
