Hawks pull out tie with Wolves, 4-4.
Sunday night The Seattle University Redhawks continued their recent unbeaten streak
by pulling out a tie with the Seattle Wolves who currently have the best record in the CHL at 14-2-1. The First period started
out slow and neither team could gain the edge until 7 minutes left in the first when the Wolves would score on their first
power play opportunity of the game. Minutes later the Wolves would go up by two as nice passing paid off for them in the Hawks
zone. With only a minue left in the first the Hawks responded as Sophomore Jeff Lynch (Woodinville, WA) would hit Sophomore
Brandon Holthaus (Lake City, WA) with a pass and Holthaus would take two steps into the Wolves zone and would let a laser
beam go that would beat Wolves goalie Tim Comyn low blocker side to make it 2-1. The Wolves would answer early in the second
as they would go up 3-1, and thats how the second would end. The third period saw quite an offensive explosion from the
Hawks as Junior Tim Lang (Olympia, WA) would find Holthaus wide open in slot and he would finish off Lang's great pass to
bring the Hawks within one. Minutes later the Hawks would get the equalizer as Senior Jamie Booth (Winnipeg, MB) and Tim Lang
would set up Sophomore Matt Schwarz (San Diego, CA) who would make a great deflection on Booth's shot for his first
goal of the season. As the have all season the Wolves would respond to giving up a goal and would go ahead 4-3 just minutes
after Schwarz's equalizer, the Hawks however would not let this stand as it was Holthaus picking up his 3rd goal of the game
on another set up by Tim Lang as Lang would pick up his third assist of the game as well, Holthaus would beat Comyn five hole
to tie the game. Hawks goalie Read Constant was steller once again, making incredible saves the whole night including stopping
a fury of shots with only 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Constant made 36 saves on the night. The Hawks next game is
next sunday March 13 at 10:45am against the Lynwood Top Shelf at the Everett Events Center.

Redhawks take down Flyers 7-6.
Sunday night the Seattle University Redhawks got back
on the winning track sunday night but not in the most conventional way. They were awarded the win with two minutes left in
regulation as a line brawl occured between the two teams as the Everett Flyers were unable to finish the game due to a lack
of players and thier goalie who was also ejected. The game at hand was a very high passed and a lot of scoring. The Redhawks
did something that they haven't done in a while, score first. Early on the Hawks found themselves on the powerplay and as
the Hawks usually do they took advantage of it. Junior Ben Markwart (Floyd, NY) chaised down a puck deep in the Flyers zone
and sniped a pass to a wide open Brandon Holthaus (Lake City, WA) who buried it five hole on Flyers goalie Phil Van Valkenburg
to put the Hawks up 1-0. The Flyers would strike back quickly and eventually go up 5-1 on the Hawks as there defense would
breakdown and the Hawks seemed surely out of it. The Hawks remained scoreless throughout the second period but the third period
was a much different story. Once again it was powerplay unit that got the job done for the Hawks as Ben Markwart would draw
the faceoff back to Senior Ben Tews (Worcester, NY) as he would zip a pass across to a wide open Jamie Booth (Winnipeg, MB)
as booth would snipe Van Valkenburg high blocker side to bring the Hawks within 3 with eleven mintues remaining in the
game. Minutes later Sophomore Pete Burns (Seattle, WA) hit Holthaus with a pass as Holthaus would dangle around a Flyers defensemen
and beat Van Valkenburg five hole once again to bring the score to 5-3. The Flyers would answer quickly and thought they would
stop the Hawks from soaring to go up 7-3. But the Hawks were not done as Holthaus would pick up his fourth hat trick of the
season as he would let a rocket go from the top of the right circle to beat Van Valkenburg high glove side and make it 7-4.
Minutes later Junior Tim Lang (Olympia, WA) would notch his first goal of the season as he would get a pass from Ben Tews
and Lang would beat Van Valkenburg low blocker side to make it 7-5. Rob Ballinger would pick up the Hawks final goal as he
would rush the puck end to end and deke to the left side and bring the score to 7-6. But as mentioned above because of the
way the game ended the win was actually awarded to the Hawks. Goalie Read Constant made 25 saves on the night and improved
his record to 9-6-2. The Hawks are on the Road this weekend the 18th and 19th as they travel to Tacoma to take on the
University of Puget Sound Friday and Saturday. Friday nights game will start at 5:15pm while saturday's game will start
at 2:00pm. Both games will be played at Sprinker Ice Center. Admission to both games is $2 for students and $3 for

Sunday night The Seattle University Redhawks and the Lynwood Topshelf found themselves
in an offensive explosion as momentum would constantly shift throughout the whole game but Top Shelf would prevail on this
night. Top Shelf would take the early 2-0 lead on a powerplay goal and a even man goal but the Hawks would answer back with
two quick goals of thier own. It was Sophomore Captain Adam Read (Northgate, WA) that would start the scoring for the Hawks
as Junior Ben Markwart (Floyd, NY) would hit Junior Tim Lang (Olympia, WA) with a pass and Lang would foward it to Read and
he slipped around a Top Shelf defensmen and went high glove side on Top Shelf goalie Craig Lawrence to bring the score to
2-1. Minutes later Senior Jamie Booth (Winnipeg, MB) would get a pass from Adam Read and walk in alone and beat Lawrence five
hole to tie the game at 2. It seemed that the Hawks had things going there way until Top Shelf answered early in the second
period with two more quick goals to go up 4-2, and would put two more in before the end of the second to lead 6-2. The Hawks
would fight back though, Sophomore Brandon Holthaus ( Lake City, WA), the Hawks leading goal scorer returned to action
after coming off a 5 game suspension for his fight during the Lynwood Isotopes game on December 5th, would get things
going in the third period as he would get a bullet pass from Sophomore Gabe Cullen (Ballard, WA) and rush the rest of the
way and finish by putting on an excellent deke to beat Lawrence low blocker side to bring the score to 6-3. Midway through
the third period a faceoff in the Top Shelf zone would turn golden as Ben Markwart would draw the puck back to Holthaus,
he would let a rocket go from the point and Markwart was their to deflect it to beat Lawrence five hole to make
it 6-4. 41 second later Ross Taylor (Portland, OR) would block a shot from the point, the puck would deflect out of the
zone and Tim Lang was their to pick it up, he would give it up to Ben Markwart as Markwart would take it in all alone
and beat Lawrence low glove side for his second goal of the night and bring the score to 6-5. But thats as close as the Hawks
would get as Top Shelf would add an empty net goal to finish off the scoring. Hawks Goalie Read Constant (Lynwood, WA) made
22 saves on sunday night many of Constant's saves kept the game close for the Hawks. The Hawks next game is next sunday night
against the Everett Flyers at the Lynwood Ice Center. Game time is 9:30pm

game in the CHL last night to the hands of the Seattle Bombers 5-2. The Hawks fell to 8-5-2 and are 2-5-2 since starting
the season 6-0-0. The Hawks started out strong sunday night when Junior Ben Markwart (Floyd, NY) banked a pass off the boards
to Senior Yuji Murai (Sapporo, Japan) and Murai slipped around a Bombers defensemen but went to far so Muari headed around
the net and wrapped around to beat Bomber goalie Andrew Tackacs and the Hawks lead 1-0. Minutes later Senior Captain Adam
Read's (Northgate, WA) shot was blocked, but new comer Ryan Osterheldt (Dallas, TX) was
there to bang in the rebound to put the Hawks up 2-0. Thats how the first period would end and so would the Hawks offense.
The Bombers would score two quick goals in the second period and then pull away scoring three in the third period. Hawks goalie
Read Constant again put on a stellar performance between the pipes stopping 29 shots for the Hawks. The Hawks look to get
back on the winning track next sunday February 6th at the Lynwood Ice center game time is 9:30pm.

The Seattle University Redhawks continued their struggles of late by dropping to the Seattle Wolves 7-3 Sunday
night at the Lynwood Ice Center. The Wolves put the Hawks down 4-0 in the first period, but the Hawks would get on the board
late in the first when Sophomore Matt Schwarz (San Diego, CA) would pick up his second assist on the season as he hit Sophomore
Captian Adam Read (Northgate, WA) with a hard pass and Read Dangled around two Wolves defensemen and beat Wolves goalie Tim
Comyn low blocker side. In the second period both teams would remain scoreless but the Hawks many great scoring chances but
just couldn't find the back of the net. The Hawks started slow in the third as they would fall behind 7-1 early, but with
five minutes left the Hawks would find a little spark on the powerplay as Junior Ben Markwart (Floyd, NY) and Sophomore Jeff
Lynch (Woodinville, WA) would come down on a 2 on 1 Markwart gave it up to Lynch as he would hesitate to the last second and
slide it back to Markwart who buried it low blocker side past Comyn to bring the score to 7-2. 37 seconds later it was Markwart
again receiveing a pass from Sophomore Tim Lang (Olympia, WA), this time slipping past a Wolves defensemen and deking Comyn
beating him five hole for his second goal of the night and bring the score to a final of 7-3. Hawks goalie Read Constant had

The Seattle University Redhawks winning streak was snapped sunday night
by the Seattle Ice Monkey's 5-4. The Redhawks found themselves in an unusual position early in the game as they trailed 1-0
only 2 minutes into the first period. The Hawks would tie up the score midway through the first period as Junior defensemen

he was cutting across the ice, Murai dangled into the Ice Monkey's zone and put a nice move on Ice Monkey goalie Chris Graham
